Document types
A document type defines what a document is: what it represents, which information it carries, and which wallet formats it exists in.
What a document type holds
| Identity | Name, issuing authority, version |
| Information | The fields a document of this type carries |
| Formats | One per wallet format: SD-JWT VC (a vct) or ISO mdoc (a doctype and namespace) |
| Binding | How the document is tied to the customer's wallet key |
A document type is either shared by LutraID with every organization, such as PID, mobile driving licence or age verification, or made for one organization.
Where to see them
The Document types page lists the types your organization can use. It sits under Setup → Documents at …/documents/types, has no entry of its own in the sidebar, and is easiest to open from search. Owners and admins can open it.
The list is read-only.
Document types are provisioned by LutraID. You can't create or edit them from the dashboard or the API.
Getting a new one
To get a type that isn't in the list, get in touch with the information it should carry, the wallet formats you need, and the authority it's issued under. Standard EUDI types are already available and need no setup.
Then what
You don't issue a document type directly. It reaches your issuers as a document, which you add on an issuer's Documents tab.
