Documents
A document is what you actually issue. It is built on one or more document types and fixes how they are handed over, so issuing is just choosing the document and filling in the details.
Where to find them
Setup → Documents lists the documents your issuers can issue, and what each one carries. For each document you see:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Document | Its name |
| Information it carries | The fields a customer's document will contain |
| Provided by | From LutraID for shared documents, or Your organization |
| Used by | The issuers that issue it, or No issuer issues it yet |
Open a document for its details, including the wallet formats it's available in. Owners and admins can open this page.
Add a document to an issuer
A document on this page isn't issued by anyone until you add it to an issuer:
- Open the issuer under Setup → Issuers and go to its Documents tab.
- Choose Add document and pick the documents.
- Keep both wallet formats, SD-JWT VC and ISO mdoc, unless your customers use a single wallet type. Change them under Customize formats.
Not every document exists in both formats. Each document is added only in the chosen formats it exists in, so a document that exists only as SD-JWT VC is added as SD-JWT VC even when both formats are chosen. If none of the chosen documents exists in the chosen formats, nothing is added and the dialog says so. The document's details and the issuer's Documents tab show which formats it has.
A document marked Partly added is already on the issuer in some of its formats. Adding it again adds only the missing ones.
The document then appears in Issue document. See Set up an issuer.
To stop an issuer issuing a document, choose Remove document from the document's actions menu on the issuer's Documents tab. Documents already issued stay valid.
Request a new document
Documents are provided by LutraID; you can't create them yourself. If you need a document that isn't listed, or a different combination of document types, choose Request a document on Setup → Documents.
- On LutraID's hosted service, this opens an email to support.
- On a self-hosted installation, ask the administrator of this installation.
For developers
Over the API, a document is called an issuance profile. The issuanceProfileId you send when issuing over the API is the Document ID shown in the document's details.
